Clark Kellogg to Chair Launch Campaign for The Masters Preparatory Academy
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Former Ohio State standout and CBS Sports analyst Clark Kellogg will serve as Chair of the launch campaign for The Masters Preparatory Academy (MPA), a new boarding school founded by Columbus education leader, Dr. Robert Murphy.
Currently in development, MPA is pursuing property acquisition with plans to open in the fall of 2028. The school’s mission is to provide a transformative educational experience focused on improving outcomes for young Black men.
“My wife and I are excited about the opportunity to help launch such an important institution,” said Kellogg. “The foundation has been built over several years, with a shared goal of changing the trajectory of young Black men.”
A core pillar of MPA’s mission is serving Black male students impacted by the foster care system. The school has committed to enrolling 30 percent of its student body from Children’s Services agencies across Ohio, building on its partnership with the SIMBA program within Franklin County Children’s Services.
“We are honored by Clark and Rosy’s support in advancing our mission,” said Dr. Murphy, founder and CEO. “With strong partners, we are confident in our ability to address the challenges facing Black boys and deliver lasting impact on our community.”
The formal announcement will take place Friday, June 26, at 10:00 a.m. during the Ubuntu Leadership Institute at The Ohio State University. The event will be held at Curl Hall,
80 W. Woodruff Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43210.
